2010
clubliner - Sometimes small is very big
In autumn 2009, the mariner 3S clubliner presents itself to a professional audience on two big and important international fairs in Barcelona and in Cologne for the first time and the new website www.mariner-club.com goes online.
Developped especially for pools in the wllness industry the mariner 3S clubliner cleaning robot opens the entry into a new market for Mariner 3S. The cleaner integrates the technological innovations and know-how derived from years of work in the most compact form.
After a careful test phase in Switzerland and the followed introduction in Germany, Spain and France, the worldwide market launch starts successfully through an exclusive distribution network in spring 2010.
With the introduction of the new mariner 3S clubliner plus in Summer 2010, Mariner 3S marks another milestone in the swimming pool cleaning business: Just as the robots of the latest mariner 3S generation, the new clubliner plus is equipped with a Basic Sensor.
2009
Formation of Mariner 3S AG
After over 36 years of working together at 3S Systemtechnik AG, about a year ago the owners decided to make a plan for succession, with the aim of keeping the company in the family. To help reach a sustainable and forward-looking solution, it was necessary to clarify and adapt some aspects of the organisation. The greatest change that this has brought about is the separation of the business areas of "Pumps" and "Swimming Pool Cleaning".
The business area of "3S Pumps" will continue under the previous company 3S Systemtechnik AG.
As a new company Mariner 3S AG was founded for the area of swimming pool cleaning. It will take over all domestic and international business activities in this field and the new company will include all subsidiaries.
"compact 400", "compact 600" and "topliner" with Basic Sensor
compact 400, compact 600 and topliner are standardly equipped with a basic sensor. This allows even more directional stability and to use the fastest cleaning pattern of the world.
2006
"navigator II" and "topliner"
Presentation of the most powerful top appliance for adventure parks and Olympic pools in its strong design at the Interbad 2006 in Düsseldorf. Available with or without navigation system, both models come with many features: the cleaning at low water level as well as side walls and the surprising and unique emersion to the water surface at the end of the automatic cleaning. The regulated double pump suction, even more sweeping width and filter surface, and the new user friendly control generation satisfy comprising customers’ wishes. The USB interface and service tool enable an error enquiry over the distance – thus preventing the customer from unnecessary cost.
2005
60 Years – more than 10'000 mariner sold
compact YELLOW Launch of the price cut models with adjustable brushes, rounding off the range downwards. All compact are optimised fluid dynamically at the Polytechnic University – the suction power becomes even stronger.

"compact 600"
The compact 600, the big brother of the compact 400, amplifies the range of compact cleaners.
1999
Subsidiary Company in Spain
To boost the market position the subsidiary company mariner 3S España, s.l. was established in October in Rubí / Barcelona.
1998
"compact 400" and "progress"
The new generation of swimming pool cleaners mariner 3S compact and mariner 3S progress are presented to the professional audience at the Interbad 1998 in Düsseldorf. After three years of research and development, two new types of appliances are equally brought to production. Both are equipped with the most modern technology and respond to the latest standards of safety extra-low voltage operation (< 30 VDC). Therewith 3S safeguards once more the technological advantage over its competitors.
1997
Subsidiary Company in FR & Branch Offices in AT & NL
In April mariner 3S France S.a.r.l. was established in Jouy aux Arches / Metz. For the customer support, additional branches were established in Paris, Bordeaux and Lyon within one year. Equally two new Branch Offices of 3S Systemtechnik GmbH Germany were established in A-3133 Traismauer (west of Vienna) Austria and in 1996 in the Netherlands.
Launch of "navigator"
This novelty is equipped with an intelligent navigation system with electronic compass, allowing for the first time an almost exhaustive automatic cleaning of Olympic pools or water parks, so to speak of all pools with complicated fantasy shapes.
1995
50th Anniversary Celebrations
On May 18, the festivities of the jubilee „50 years 3S“ take place. A prospering enterprise is presented to illustrious guests. The festivities find a glittering closure after an attractive presentation under a circus tent.
1991
Transfer of Company Headquarters to Remigen - New Corporate Name
The transfer of the headquarter to Remigen comes with the dissociation from the former company name SOMMER, SCHENK AG SWITZERLAND to operate the business under the new registered name "3S Systemtechnik AG". The name change underlines the importance of high technology (hydraulics, command and propulsion technology as well as sensors) in 3S product development.
After the death of A. Sommer jun., B. Steiner enters the Management holding the portfolio of Administration.
The trade mark is registered internationally.
1990
"nova"
The first automatic professional pool cleaner for smaller public indoor and outdoor pools is introduced at the Interbad trade faire in Düsseldorf and creates great interest from both users and trade suppliers. The first pool cleaner designed to be powered by low voltage even earns the envious respect of competitors.
1985
A. Sommer hands over the business to his four sons
The "standard 1000"
follows as the low budget version of the "aps 2000" for automatic cleaning of rectangular pools.
1984
Subsidiary Company in Germany
To amplify the market position and ensure an efficient service organisation in Germany, 3S establishes in Giessen (Land of Hessen) its first Subsidiary Company.
